COPS ARE PIGS, OINK, OINK, OINK

A 4-year-old nephew of mine once shocked me by saying, "Cops are pigs, oink, oink, oink." Since then, my experience has led me to believe he was probably right. As a general rule, cops are not our friends and they are to be avoided when at all possible. The latest story is a lovely example of the police mindset at loose in the world.

The criminal complaint alleges that Lelinski met a woman while on duty and then pursued her for several weeks before assaulting her on Oct. 18 in her home while he was off duty. The allegations are similar to others against Lelinski investigated by the Police Department, none of which resulted in charges, that are now being re-examined, police sources said.

Cops are like sharks, they troll around all day looking for something to hurt. What a joy it must be for those guys to hide along the interstate waiting for the opportunity to ruin someone's day for driving 76 mph. And as they sternly write your ticket, how tremendously satisfying it must be to deliver the pain. Total power, to mess with people as you see fit.

One of my first experiences in my current locale was having 4 moustache cops in a squad car yell at me for not crossing at the crosswalk. I couldn't help but wonder if they might have something better to do than try to intimidate jaywalkers. But I could tell it was all about them being the tough guys with the badges. It's like giving bullies uniforms and setting them loose on the population. They let Jeffrey Dahmer go, but bring misery to the rest of us.

It's easy to talk about the Frank Jude case, and the countless police shootings ignored by Michael McCann over the years, and rip on cops. But I'm talking about something much more basic. Who is attracted to the idea of being a police officer, and what is it that makes them happy? They may claim they're saving the world. But whenever you cross their path, why is it that the world always seems to get more difficult?

The cop mentality has only been worsened over the years by politicians efforts to criminalize more and more activity. The right to be left alone is not a cop or politician-supported idea. They want to be able to burst into your life and crush you like a bug, whether you are hurting anyone else or not. If a cop doesn't like how you look, he can arrest you for being drunk, sarcastic, or just in the wrong company. AND THEY DO THIS ALL THE TIME!

Obviously, the police are necessary to an orderly society. I want them to catch robbers, direct traffic, and save my children from sex offenders. But I don't need them to go after every regular citizen that bends a rule, makes some noise, or exceeds the speed limit. I don't need them to goose-step around town and harass people just for the power of it. I don't need them to ticket the non-reckless. I don't need them to stop people for black driving. I don't even need them to incarcerate the drunk who passes out in his car.

And before you law-abiding citizens get all high and mighty with me, just stop and think of your life interactions with the police. What are the percentages favorable and unfavorable? When is the last time that a cop let you off with a warning, or helped you with directions after taking a wrong turn? And why do we have to keep saying, thank you sir may I have another?

The cop in this week's story "allegedly" used his position as a cop to force himself on women with something to fear from his authority. If the charges are proven, just think of how many times he abused his authority on one thing or another over the years. And just think how many cops there are out there right now that are just like him. Scary.

Says who? The police don't protect us. If you want protection for yourself or your property you hire a bodyguard or a security firm. Courts have repeatedly ruled that police have no responsibility to protect any individual. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in a situation where you need police protection the best you can hope for is that they will catch the guy who robbed/murdered/raped you after the fact. In fact, assuming you survived your encounter with some petty private criminal, you're actually worse off if the cops catch the guy, because - now - the government will rob you and the other taxpayers again, to the tune of $20-30 thousand per year, to imprison the offender, locking him up with other hardened criminals, and releasing him with honed criminal skills and a record that virtually prevents him from ever being able to earn an honest living again. Is it any surprise, with a criminal justice system like this, that recidivism is such a problem? Then there's the issue of government prohibition on victimless vice crimes like gambling, prostitution and drug use creating a vast criminal underworld that fuels the majority of violent crime that we have to worry about to begin with. No, in every way, cops worsen the problems they are supposed to address. We'd be better off without any police at all. Let's not forget that professional police are a relatively recent phenomenon, becoming widespread in the western world within only within the last 150 years or so.

Cops are unAmerican.
Cops are evil.
Cops think of non-cops as sub-human.
Cops would like to throw everyone in prison.
Cops think they're better than everyone else.

If cops are better, why then are they told what where and how to do everything by their masters?

Cops are the enemy of Americans everywhere and some day it'll come to revolution against the Nazi Police State.

I never actually realized how easily cops can take away your freedom. Cops and the law in general abuse their power and don't give a damn about "protecting" America's citizens. I've gotten my share of wack tickets that were traps to get my money. Now i'm screwed and cannot drive because I am a college student paying for my own education who can't afford the rediculous insurance rates after all of my tickets. The way or system works is frustrating and discusting.

yo are right cops are not there to protect any one. there sole purpuss is to get money for their township.there are 2 kinds of cops
1. the ones that used to bully people around.
2.the ones that used to get picked on and now whant to do the picking to make themselves feel powerfull now.

Indeed the cops are evil. I've been accused of theft many times and searched without a warrant and I've been accused of kidnapping my own daughter while walking her home from public school as recent as last week. What's more the pigs NEVER apologize. I fear that it's only a matter of time that someone will get creative with fabricated evidence and try to throw me in jail. I have no trust in them and my daughter knows quite well what I think of them and what I mean by "pigs." We're supposedly innocent until proven guilty here in Canada (Constitution Act 1992, Part 1, Section 11(d)). But they abuse and ignore your constitutional rights to further their own agenda.

AWESOME! I couldn't agree more. have you heard about all the shit that went down in Fort Worth? I'd love to hear your opinion about that.

Cops are bad, armed security pigs are even worse.
