American Deaths Over The Last Three Years Put In Perspective

Man, we lose less than 3000 in 3 years in Iraq, and many are whining. We lost 7000 in the landing at Iwo Jima, one battle! I wonder, with so many hand wringers and pacifists, if we could win a war like WWII today.
In what way? It's a point of perspective. Comparing one war to another. I haven't focused on the media's refusal to publish equal amounts of good news vs. bad. I've focused on casualty numbers. I'd also like to hear the numbers of terrorists killed, where's that? They print the innocent casualties, yet not the intended ones. So where is it apples to oranges?
